Activity Support
Our activity support volunteers provide scheduled, in-person support to persons with disabilities who swim at the local YMCA. Activity support gives you the chance to practice customer service, time management, and prioritization. If you are interested in this position, you should know how to swim, and be willing to make physical contact with other people (the role may involve simple tasks like offering a supportive arm to someone using a mobility aid).
Event Representative
Representing ILCLA at events is a critical volunteer role that supports recruitment, and drives traffic for our critical services. If you want to develop your public speaking skills, professional presence, and a better understanding of event management, than maybe, this role is for you! This position does not require you to drive, but strong listening skills are important.
Community Outing Guide
Community outing guides get the chance to explore the larger region of south Ontario with a person with disabilities. Outings can include trips to museums, movies, zoos, and more. Each community outing is unique, so the skills that volunteer guides need can be unique, too. Expect to deliver customer service, practice time management, prioritization, and more. This position does not require you to drive, but strong listening skills are important. You should also be comfortable going to places that you have never been while representing an organization.

Volunteer ILCLA Board Member
The board at ILCLA wants to make sure that the needs and experiences of volunteers are considered when they are making choices about what the organization does now, and in the future. This role is a special chance to gain valuable experience working with a non-profit board, and to be involved in strategic planning and organizational development.
Workshop Facilitator
Right now, ILCLA is looking for one volunteer who is a certified yoga instructor. We've had great results with our in-person accessible yoga workshops. However, we can't keep up with demand! Our hope is that with the assistance of a volunteer like you, we can develop this content, and offer it regularly online. This specialized role needs your professional skills as an instructor. It also would offer the opportunity to control your own schedule, develop your own content, and create a relationship with a certified non-profit organization.
