Welcome to the Volunteer Program!

The mission of Independent Living, London and Area (ILCLA) is to help persons with disabilities to make choices and plans on their own terms, so they can live their best lives. One of the key parts of turning this goal into a reality is our wonderful volunteer team. We are looking for professional, dedicated, and kind individuals who want to get involved!

What Can We Offer You, as A Volunteer?

Our volunteer positions are a special opportunity to develop your skills, learn more about resources available in the area, and to become involved in the larger community of persons with disabilities. The volunteer team is a fun group of people who are welcoming, and committed to getting the job done. A volunteer position will help develop abilities that are desired by employers in Ontario, such as:

Advanced client relations service

Confidence in an office environment

Prioritization and time management

Hands-on work with vulnerable populations

Your experience as a volunteer will be fully supported by the friendly ILCLA staff at every step of the way, from onboarding to program exit. Questions are always welcome, and we take extra time to ensure that training meets your needs.

Benefits of Volunteering

Volunteers who leave our program in good standing do so with a strong professional reference from a respected non-profit, and the knowledge that they helped people in need, when the help was needed most. There are a number of reasons that volunteering with ILCLA might be a great fit for you.
